In early August 2020, Coca-Cola Amatil (Amatil) hosted its fourth annual Australian Partner for Growth Awards to celebrate ingenuity and the commitment of suppliers in helping Amatil deliver innovation and results.
For the first time, the awards were held virtually online to protect the safety and wellbeing of employees and supply partners during the COVID-19 pandemic.
We are excited to announce that Amatil has named Verdia their winner of the Corporate & Social Responsibility Award in the 2020 Partner for Growth Awards.
This award recognises the business that has partnered with Amatil to make a distinctive and positive contribution to the community.
Since 2017, Verdia has been working with Amatil to install more than 10,000 solar panels over two hectares of roof space across three large Amatil industrial properties in WA, QLD and NSW.
With a generating capacity of 3.5megawatts, the solar installation is one of the largest in Australia with the potential to save more than 4,000 tonnes in carbon emissions (the equivalent of taking over 2,300 cars off Australian roads.)
Verdia and Amatil’s partnership has made, and is still making, positive environmental change and contributions to our community by taking action on climate change through investment in renewable and sustainable energy.
With enough solar panels to cover forty-two average suburban blocks, the solar system is helping to reduce Amatil’s overall energy dependence on the grid by about 14%.
‘Thank you for this award and for giving us the opportunity to develop and deliver one of the largest rooftop solar installation in Australia,’ said Paul Peters, CEO of Verdia.
‘Amatil, thank you for your leadership in sustainability. Our partnership with you in these projects and for taking the opportunity to make a difference. We look forward to continuing our partnership together.’
